Happy Fall everyone! The EFLS is off to a great start – we had LOTS of new faces at our kick off cocktail party and will keep the momentum going with POWER ON WEEK!
We are thrilled to report that through proceeds from last year’s fundraiser, we were able to donate almost $90,000 worth of technology to Little Silver schools. This is an EFLS record, and something we all should be proud of. Despite this great achievement, $30,000 worth of teacher grants still went unfunded. The EFLS is more determined than ever to bridge the funding gap, and we need your help to do it!
So in this the 20th year of the EFLS, we are asking everyone in Little Silver to “Stop and Give Us 20!”
• 20 “Likes”: Driving awareness for the EFLS can be as simple as “liking” our posts on Facebook…every like and share broadens our audience and helps us get our message across to the Little Silver community.
• 20 hours: Come to our monthly meetings to hear about our plans, learn about the teacher grant process or to share your technology expertise. Join a committee, lead a committee or just help out when you have time. It’s never too late to get involved! Visit: http://efls.org/get-involved/ to get started.
• 20 dollars: Every single dollar helps. There are so many ways to raise money for the EFLS. Aside from making a personal donation, consider encouraging doting relatives to contribute to your child’s education, utilize your employer’s corporate matching programs, designate the EFLS as your “Amazon Smile” beneficiary, or collect donations in lieu of hostess gifts at your next cocktail party. And of course, mark your calendar for Friday, March 4…our biggest fundraiser of the year is not to be missed!
The EFLS will be out in force for POWER ON WEEK over the next few days to raise awareness. Look for us at “Walk/Bike to School Day” at Point Road on Wednesday…come visit us on the lower fields for a free cup of Joe! On Thursday, we’ll hit Markham Place for drop off and Point Road pick up…more giveaways are in store at both locations, so don’t be shy! Together, we can push our children’s education to new levels by keeping the POWER ON in Little Silver Schools!
