2017-2018 – Inspire and Shine!

On March 2, 2018, the EFLS returned to the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park for its “Inspire and Shine!” annual fundraiser event.  Despite a lower turnout than usual due to a significant late winter snowstorm that night, the EFLS nonetheless raised well over $100,000.  Those who were unable to navigate the treacherous weather were still able to contribute by bidding via smartphones on auction items throughout the evening!  Pictures from this event can be found at this link.

2012-2013 – Dancing With The Stars

EFLS_dance4On March 8, 2013, “Dancing With The Stars” took place at the Shadowbrook and raised nearly $60,000 for technology in our schools.  The event featured a dance-off between seven couples, comprised of Little Silver parents and teachers.  The pairs worked with local dance studios to choreograph original dance numbers, which they performed for all in attendance.  The competition was fierce, but Tabitha and Joe Pia took home the silver ball trophy that night.  “Dancing With The Stars” also featured a performance by the RBR Academy of Visual and Performing Arts dance team, a Live and Silent Auction, music by “The Haven”, an open bar, and amazing food.  The EFLS appreciates all who came out that night to support the event. Special thanks to our sponsors and our “cast” of talented dancers, judges (Bob Neff, LB Kass, and Amy Byrnes), and emcees (Chris Smith and Bettina Forbes).

2011-2012 – Silver Chef Throw Down

EFLS_Chef2

On November 18, 2011, the EFLS hosted the “Silver Chef Throw Down” at McLoone’s Rum Runner in Sea Bright.  The fundraiser featured an “Iron Chef” like competition between Little Silver teachers, Tim Russoniello and Kim Christman, and executive chef Joe Racioppi of McLoone’s Pier House.  Samples of each team’s dishes were passed through the crowd, and the cook-off ended in a tie.  The big winners were Little Silver’s schools, which benefited from the nearly $50,000 raised that evening.  In addition to the competition, the event featured a silent auction, a prize-filled trivia challenge, live music, and endless trays of food samples.  The EFLS extends its thanks to the Little Silver community, sponsors, and attendees for their generous support of the “Silver Chef Throw Down”!  Special thanks to our talented chefs, emcees Farley Boyle and Chris Smith, and keynote speaker Manoj Narang.
